Cake Kalk&
The Cake Calk& is a street legal electric motorcycle. One has to emphasize the term ‘street-legal’ because of its unusual design. It looks more like a bicycle frame, although it has the design elements of a professional Motocross bike. The only difference is that the Kalk& does not come with a larger front tire. Despite its skinny look, the Cake Kalk& remains one of the best electric motorcycle models around.
Brutus V9
The Brutus V9 is an e-motorbike that looks more like the Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycle line. It is a brawny cruiser that can accommodate you and a back rider for an amazing trip on the roads of the backcountry. It is quite long for an electric motorbike at 100.5 inches.
While it has the size of a Harley tourer, the Brutus V9 doesn’t consider its weight as a detriment to its performance. Its 9-inch, 125-HP DC motor can deliver a torque output of 277 lb-ft. On paper, it can blitz to 115 MPH. It can go faster than this, however. Brutus restricted its top speed for safety reasons. The V9 comes in two types of battery packs. Johammer J1
The Johammer J1 is a motorcycle that you only get to see in sci-fi films. It has a very unique design that follows the monocoque body frame of ultra-modern concept cars. You won’t see any frame on the J1, except for the fork that extends from the lower chassis.
The J1 electric motorcycle is available in two versions: the J1.150 and the J1.200. The difference is in the range of the models. Victory Empulse TT
The Victory Empulse TT is an electric sports bike that has a more compact package that other e-bikes with the same design. It still has the classic Empulse design from its previous manufacturer, Brammo. The Empulse TT has all the classic elements of European and Japanese superbikes.
It has an aggressive stance. The Empulse TT also puts the rider in an excellent position to carve corners with both ease and composure. While it cannot match the top speed of some of the bikes on this list, its 100-MPH performance is still commendable. It uses Brammo’s Power Lithium Ion pack that holds 10.4 kWh of power. The Victory Empulse TT has an onboard 3.6 kW charger that allows you to recharge in as short as 3.5 hours. Its powerful styling also makes for a great ride, whether it is on a gentle cruise or spirited run with friends in freeways.
Tarform Electric Motorcycle
Tarform believes that it has just created a new breed of electric motorcycles. Many agree. This e motorcycle has one of the most unique designs on the market. It looks like the body of a grasshopper. The rear wheel extends out from the back with its oversized drive-chain creating a silvery silhouette amidst a sea of grayish black.
This electric motorcycle features a 7kWh battery, which can take the Tarform for about 92 miles of city driving. Its 43-HP electric motor allows the motorbike to reach a top speed of 93 MPH.
The Tarform incorporates a variety of biomaterials. Not only is the company concerned about reducing emissions, it is also hell-bent on using only eco-friendly materials in the construction of the Tarform. This motorbike also happens to have one of the most intelligent computers on-board. It is intuitive enough to warn the rider of potential danger.
Vespa Elettrica
Vespa is a name that people trust when it comes to scooters. The Elettrica cannot compare to its big brothers in this list. However, no one can deny the fact that this is one of the best electric motorcycle models for the upbeat and trendy crowd.
It retains the fun design of all Vespa scooters, including a whimsical frame and small wheels. Yet, this little two-wheeled marvel can take you to about 62 miles of effortless cruising on a single charge. Its electric motor can deliver a minimal power of 2 kW, maxing out at 4 kW. The motor can produce a torque of 147 lb-ft. It draws its power from a LiFePo4 type of battery. Charging time only takes about 4 hours.
Like all inventions of the 21st century, the Elettrica comes with smart functions. It can connect to your smartphone to take advantage of a wide range of modern features. The Vespa has the looks of a 1950s scooter. However, its soul is that of a 21st century geek.
Lito Sora
Lito introduced the world’s very first electric sports bike in 2014. The original Sora had many of the fine elements of Street Fighter and Bobber bikes. What Lito did was to create an e super bike from scratch. It had a low-riding stance that bikers can adjust for a more aggressive styling.
This coming 2020, Lito is introducing the second generation of Soras. It comes with better features, greater performance, and an increased range. Leading the set of innovations is a battery that is more powerful than the 1st generation. This gives the Gen 2 Sora 50% greater range than its predecessor.
The Sora can blitz to 60 MPH in 3 seconds. It features carbon fiber components to minimize weight and improve speed. Like the 1st Generation Sora, the Sora 2 will come as a limited-edition electric street bike. One has to act fast if you ever want to take this baby for a ride.
Arc Vector
The Arc Vector has got to be one of the most futuristic-looking electric superbikes around. It’s what RoboCop would love to have patrolling the streets of New Detroit. It features thoroughbred components and exotic materials. It gives you a motorbike that is pleasing to look at as it is wonderful to ride.
This limited-edition electric motorcycle comes with a 16.8 kWh battery to give you an astonishing 271-mile range. It is a lot better than the 223-mile range of the Zero SR. And while its battery is humongous, you only need 40 minutes to have it all charged up. The Vector has a top speed of 124 MPH. One has to understand that Arc limited the top speed of the Vector to make sure you stay safe on the road.
The Arc Vector not only looks dashing. It also has the performance to tag along with petrol-powered street bikes.
Alta Motors Redshift MXR
The Redshift MXR is Alta Motors’ take on what a true electric street bike should be. It has all the design elements of a tough, all-terrain-conquering dirt bike. The only things that are missing are the extra-large exhaust pipes and the humongous fuel tank.
The MXR comes with a 50-HP high-speed PMAC motor that delivers 42 lb-ft of torque. It has a 5.8 kWh, 350-volt Lithium ion battery that requires a 3-hour charging on 120-volt units. Charge the unit in a 240-volt outlet and you can get the MXR up and running in 1.5 hours. The Redshift also features the Alta-Digital system. It includes 4 maps for every motorcycle skill level.
The Redshift MXR is not going to participate any Motocross Rally soon. When it comes to backyard motocrossing, however, this is one baby that knows how to behave in the dirt.
Honda PCX ELECTRIC
The PCX Electric is not your CB series of Honda superbikes. It is an electric motorcycle for adults that can also work for teens. It is not as vintage-looking as the Vespa. However, it does come with a styling that will make riders feel like they’ve hit the jackpot.
The PCX is an electric scooter that comes with a 5.7-HP electric motor. The torque output is 13.5 lb-ft. It is enough to get the PCX Electric over the hill without making its engine sputter. The motor relies on the power provided by a 48-volt, 1.03 kWh lithium ion battery. The battery is sufficient to take the PCX for a 25-mile drive.
Do not expect the Honda PCX Electric to create burn marks on the road. It can cruise to a top speed of 37 MPH. It is modest compared to the rest of the big boys in this list. Considering that it is a scooter, the PCX Electric still makes for a worthy e-motorcycle.
Super SOCO TC Max
One cannot help admire the Super SOCO TC Max. It has the classic styling of a BMW motorcycle, except that the TC Max doesn’t need gas. It also has a very pleasant hum that tells you the motor is working to give you a great ride.
Unlike its gas-powered cousins, the SOCO TC Max only maxes out at 62 MPH. Its modest top speed makes this electric motorbike best suited for city driving. Of course, you are more than welcome to bring it to the freeways.
The TC Max comes with a 3.2 kWh battery that can give the electric bike a modest 68-mile range. The electric motor also delivers enough torque to the rear wheel at 125 lb-ft. This is an electric motorbike that you’d want to take over the hill for a more sweeping view of the city.
Electric motorcycles do not have the range and top speed of conventional motorcycles. However, they are the wave of the future as man starts to understand and appreciate the need for saving planet Earth. These high-voltage wonder bikes are here to stay.
